BE YOUR BEST SELF

In a world where society sets the course for how we 'should' be it becomes difficult to be our authentic selves. And so we live behind the mask, and the beautiful beings that we really are seldom gets the opportunity to shine through.

The 3-module course to breaking the barriers to a life of FREEDOM, PEACE, PROSPERITY, and FUN!

BE YOUR BEST SELF

'Know Thyself' - There is every reason why you should heed Plato's words, 'Know Thyself above all else'.   How else can you take the reins of your life in your hands and discover your inner strength and power if you have not asked yourself 'do I really know myself?
'Love Thyself' -  What exactly does that mean? We're not supposed to love ourselves. That would be considered selfish. And yet if we don't have love for ourselves, how can we love others. We cannot possibly give what we do not have.
'Be Thyself'- We owe it to ourselves to allow our True Nature to shine through to be our authentic selves. We have to wade through so much 'stuff' to finally realize the Divine spark within us, where all our power lies.

Being a Professional

Professionalism is gained by performance, not by your title. A professional exemplifies a positive mental attitude and has a willingness to learn. A professional has the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and improvise when necessary. To me the most compelling definition of a professional is someone who performs at their best when they feel like it the least. A professional leaves you feeling served.

One of the most recognizable attributes of professionals is their willingness to learn. They come from a mindset that they are always in school and can always improve. They are willing to take time to work on their business, not simply in their business. But by far the most important attribute I have ever recognized in top professionals is their teach-ability or coachability. They are always open and willing to receive feedback and direction.

Think of top performing athletes like Tiger Woods. Observe the fact that in addition to his incredible work ethic, he always has his coach at his side. He is willing to accept feedback from his coach and willing to make adjustments.  He strives for excellence and not perfection. He focuses attention on the quality of his own game versus the efforts of others. In his mindset, the only competition he has is with himself. He exemplifies a mental toughness as well as a physical prowess that is unparalleled. Athletes of the future will not only have to compete with him physically but also mentally. He clearly demonstrates what I call the authentic mindset.

Ask yourself the following: Are you willing to do what it takes? Being willing will propel you through those unpleasant tasks that will enhance your performance. I have never been able to help someone effectively, if they were unwilling to be helped or coached. I have observed many people with great talent stay mediocre because a closed mind or attitude that they know everything there was to know about something. In the  final analysis, they hit a certain level of performance  and stayed at that plateau. (excerpt from Selling to Serving by Lou Cassara.

In each of us are heroes; speak to them and they will come forth... anonymous.

We are the Ones We've Been Waiting For... attributed to a Hopi elder.

You have been telling people that this is the Eleventh Hour, and now you must go back and tell people that this is THE Hour.

And there are things to be considered.

Where are you living?

What are you doing?

What are your relationships?

Are you in right relation?

Where is your water?

Know your garden.

It is time to speak your Truth.

Create your community.

Be good to each other.

And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

We are the ones we've been waiting for.

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said,

This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast.

It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.

They will try to hold on to the shore.

They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.

And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally,

least of all ourselves. For the moment we do,

our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!

Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we've been waiting for.

Food for thought...especially in these current times!

Food for the Soul

Without Universal/God's laws to guide humankind, life would be total chaos.

 The Law of Action

Action is not easy in this world; forces of doubt and inertia are everywhere, even within our own mind and body. Still, we must act.

Words may be cheap, concepts and philosophies may be elegant, ideas may abound, and good intentions may sound impressive. Turning all the words, concepts, and ideas into action requires energy; it requires sacrifice. We have to overcome insecurity and hurdle past self-doubt, lethargy, apathy, excuses, and a hundred good reasons not to rock the boat, to stay the course.

We keep getting the same message from life: It’s better to do what we need to do than not to do it and have a good reason. This is the Law of Action. Most of us take action only when the emotional, mental, or physical pain gets so bad that we have to.

Let’s acknowledge that action and change require initial discomfort, effort, and energy. Just do it!  We wait till fear is looking the other way, self-doubt and insecurity step aside and give us permission to act. But action is stronger than subjectivity; there are times that we have to act with strength and courage no matter how we’re feeling or what we’re thinking. If your heart confirms it, act, despite feelings of fear, self-doubt, or insecurity. Let all the negative voices pass through your mind, but act, anyway.

Everyday we all get opportunities to face fear or inertia, and act anyway – not by leaping off rooftops into sand piles or doing gymnastic stunts, but in even more important ways, such as taking the risk to express how we feel, to conquer old habits, or in other ways to experience the power and magic of the Law of Action.
