Food for the Soul
Is man/woman a victim of his fate or master of his/her destiny?
Universal laws offer humankind the guidelines to live life well - with meaning and purpose.
In his book 'Self Mastery and Fate with the Cycles of Life' which explains life cycles, H. Spencer Lewis places me in Period 9 (56 plus years). To understand period 9, I have to refer you to Period 8(49 - 56 years) which states;
Period 8
"In this period we find a tendency toward further retirement from personal and selfish ambition, accompanied by a lessening of vitality and physical prowess, but compensated for by a highly attuned psychic and mental nature. Here the pendulum is beginning to swing from the building up of a physical being to the building up of a spiritual being, and for this reason the physical body begins to lose it's power to combat disease and to surmount the strains of accidents and undue strains upon the vitality. Vital statistics prepared by insurance companies and government bureaus plainly show the great changes in the physical body which take place during this period and the preceding one as the pendulum begins to swing from the physical to the spiritual."
Period 9
"In this period there is a continuation of the conditions in the preceding period, but accompanied now by a mellowing of the mental faculties together with the weakening of the physical prowess, leaving the individual more and more a psychic and spiritual being in harmony with the entire purpose of the cycle progression. As a man is born to become a living soul, and not merely a soul-animated physical body, so he evolves, period by period, from birth to his 63rd year, from a physical being to a spiritual being, thereby approaching more closely the inevitable purpose of his existence."
The Point?
So,
Live well.
Make a difference.
Be joyful.
Do that that makes you happy and brings happiness to others.
For in the final analysis, it would be good to know that you have lived with meaning and purpose because,
You know who you really are.
There is hope! We are waking up!
Listen to this...it is powerful!

From a personal viewpoint, I can vouch that with attention to maintaining a healthy mind, a healthy body, community participation, and a regular spiritual practice, life can be joyful, fun, interesting and meaningful, and could continue to be so for many years to come.
